Active Duty Programs & Resources
CTA – Practice, MRCF
A suggested place to start is visiting our Practice Library. Here, you’ll find valuable videos and other resources to begin experimenting with the Five Tools of Mindful Resilience: Breathing, Meditation, Mindful Movement, Guided Rest and Gratitude. In addition to the Practice Library, we have just introduced Daily Live Online Streaming Classes! Check our Facebook page for schedule.
Many of the teachers who complete our Mindful Resilience Training for Trauma Recovery offer free classes all over the country for Veterans, Military and their support networks (families, friends and caregivers). VYP has also held healing retreats designed specifically for Veterans with PTS(D) and their families.
To find teachers and programs which may be suitable for Veterans, Military and their support networks (families, friends and care-givers), either check our Teacher Directory or search for a class below.

WHY YOGA?
Yoga works.
Research studies demonstrate what the veterans we work with already know…that Veterans and civilians, men and women, old and young, all benefit from taking the time to breathe easy, focus clearly, move mindfully, rest deeply, and remember gratitude. Research shows that these practices can quicken recovery from many physical and psychological “disorders”. We’ve worked with hundreds of veterans and active-duty military men and women using these practices and many have found relief from symptoms and resilience against life’s challenges.
Many active-duty troops and veterans are now using complementary and alternative approaches and treatment programs and are integrating complementary therapies such as Mindful Yoga Therapy and Mindful Resilience. Today, more than a quarter of Veteran Administration’s (VA) PTS(D) treatment programs offer yoga as a complementary part of treatment.
Veterans participating in these programs have reported that they sleep better, concentrate and think more clearly, manage anger and aggression more easily, and find comfort in their own skin. Yoga may not cure post-traumatic stress disorder, but many veterans and active-duty individuals from all branches and eras of services find these practices to be a significant and necessary part of their recovery.
To try some simple yoga practices, head over to our Practice Library.
