Donna Addkison,

Donna serves as Development Director of Veterans Yoga Project. Along with extensive experience in volunteer management, program management, change management and strategic planning, she brings years of revenue development and grassroots fundraising experience to her work with VYP. At various points in her career, Donna has served on statewide Military Communities and BRAC commissions, as liaison to the National Guard, Emergency Management agencies and the State Highway Patrol, and alongside FEMA, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and the Department of Homeland Security in the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

Donna comes from the Raja tradition of yoga which embraces many well-known forms of breathwork, asana, meditation, Ayurveda, and the application of the 8-limbed path in everyday life. She came to yoga following a major health disruption, studied with Denise Lapides of Divine Light Yoga, and has since shared her understanding of adaptive yoga with children, teens and adults of all ages with an emphasis on recuperative and restorative practices. In addition to being a yoga teacher (RYT-500), Donna is a Master Gardener and holds master’s degrees in political science and criminal justice. She is mom to two rescued Yorkshire Terriers, Rocky and Andy.
