Mindful Resilience for Trauma Recovery (MRT)

About the Training

Our Mindful Resilience for Trauma Recovery (MRT) course is a clinically tested, evidence-informed program that equips wellness professionals, educators, caregivers, and community leaders with a deeper understanding of trauma, post-traumatic stress symptoms, their impact on biopsychosocial functioning, and military culture. The program also offers continuing education credits through Yoga Alliance, International Association of Yoga Therapy, and the National Board for Certified Counselors.

MRT training by itself does not grant yoga teacher certification or authorization to teach yoga classes. Upon completion, participants receive a certificate that may be applied toward Continuing Education credits for those who are already registered yoga teachers at the 200‑hour level or higher.

Continuing Education Credits Available

Yoga Alliance (17.5 CE hrs), IAYT (20 CE hrs), and NBCC (15.75 CE hrs). Must be present during all sessions to receive full credit.

Format

Online via Zoom • Certificate upon completion

What You'll Learn

  • How trauma-related disorders develop and impact the brain, body, and behavior
  • The role of yoga within an integrative treatment model for trauma
  • Special considerations and safety principles when teaching trauma-affected populations
  • Practical guidance for delivering the Mindful Resilience 12-Week Protocol
  • How to use the Mindful Resilience Yoga for Veterans Recovering from Trauma practice guide in your work

This experience has been deeply enriching and has equipped me with a powerful set of tools such as Guided Rest, Gratitude, Breath, Meditation, and Mindful Movement that I will carry with confidence and intention into my teaching practice. The [Mindful Resilience for Trauma Recovery] training has not only expanded my skills but also deepened my understanding of what it means to be a trauma-informed yoga teacher. I’ve learned the importance of being predictable, authentic, present, and holding space for yoga students. These qualities are essential in creating a safe and healing environment for students, especially for our veterans that are living with PTSD.”
