WHAT IS COMPASSION FATIGUE?
Compassion fatigue happens when individuals become too physically, emotionally, and mentally exhausted due to demands of their job.
The following symptoms are some of the signs that one maybe experiencing compassion fatigue and burnout:
- Physically, mentally and emotionally exhausted
- Feelings of hopelessness
- Difficulty concentrating
- Loss of pleasure in life
- Feeling overwhelmed
- Apathetic behavior
- Unwillingness to accept reality
- Feeling burdened by the suffering of others
- Frequent complaining about your work or your life
These symptoms are not inevitable. Taking a mindful approach to your work can transform your relationship with being a caregiver and with those you care for.
EVIDENCE-BASED ONLINE RESILIENCE TRAINING
This blended online training course includes 7 weekly live interactive webinars and 6 e-learning modules designed to support those who are dealing with burnout, vicarious trauma, and compassion fatigue. This course will provide you with tangible tools to help you recognize, prevent, and transform compassion fatigue into compassion satisfaction. With a limit of 18 students per training, the small-group format will provide better learning enhancement and community connection.

Our Mindful Resilience for Compassion Fatigue course has been developed for any individual or professional who work with, care for, or is of service to others. This includes (but is not limited to):

Throughout the course you’ll learn essential tools to implement in your practice to prevent compassion fatigue, burnout, and vicarious traumatic stress.
Exploring the concepts of compassion, compassion fatigue, its positive and negative impacts on you and recognizing the signs & symptoms that may be present in your life.
Review vicarious trauma, burnout and the impact that these plus personal stressors and triggers have on your life.
Learn about compassion satisfaction and how to increase your levels of it to keep compassion fatigue, burnout and vicarious trauma at the lowest levels possible.
Learn how to experience empathy in a mindful way, so that you can be present for those you care for most while still caring for your own well being.
Learn about how to increase your overall empowerment and connection with others to create a strong foundation for sustained personal well-being.
Walking you through creation of a personal practice that you can use after completion of this course to help maintain a state of resiliency throughout your work.

Complete cost of the course is $475.
+ WHAT’S YOUR REFUND POLICY?
If you are unable to attend the Mindful Resilience for Compassion Fatigue course for any reason, please let us know at least 7 days prior to the training.
- Cancellations made more than 7 days prior to the Mindful Resilience for Compassion Fatigue course should expect a partial refund (registration amount less a $50 processing fee).
- Cancellations made within 7 days prior to, but more than 72 hours prior to the Mindful Resilience for Compassion Fatigue course will be refunded 50% of their registration fee.
- Refunds WILL NOT be granted for no shows or cancellations made less than 72 hours prior to the training.

ACCESSING THE COURSE
What requirements do I need on my computer to take your courses?
You will need access to the Zoom platform as well as the Canvas platform. Details on how to access these modalities will be sent in the registration email.
Do I have to take my course in one sitting or can I take it when I have time?
This course is meant to be completed over 6 weeks. We will meet in person each Monday to review and cover any questions or observations that may have come up over the duration of your week.
How do I access my certificates of completion?
After successful completion of each module, your certificate will be ready to view in Talent.
How long do I have access to my purchase?
You have one year from the date of your purchase of courses to complete the course.
What if I am having technical difficulties? Will my data be saved if I lose computer connectivity?

+ WHAT IS AN E-LEARNING COURSE? HOW IS THIS DIFFERENT THAN A WEBINAR?
An e-learning course is designed to be a self paced course in which you complete on your own time. Veterans Yoga Project has designed this course to not only be self paced but also via webinar. We will gather together each Monday for 7 weeks to cultivate a sense of community and support while completing this course.
The Mindful Resilience for Compassion Fatigue course is eligible for 7 Continuing Education Hours with Yoga Alliance.
This course will support you in your own journey moving through caregivers strain to caregiver resilience, through Compassion Fatigue into Compassion Satisfaction, through caregiver stress to caregiver growth. In total, there are 6 self-paced modules that culminate in developing a practice to provide long-term sustainable changes towards a healthier caregiver existence. Modules include assessments to understand your symptoms of burnout and compassion fatigue, and practical tools to halt compassion fatigue and transform it into compassion satisfaction.
These tools include meditations and reflective journaling, and mindful movement practices that will help you embody a new mindful empathy when caring for others leading to more fulfilling and less distressing caregiving experiences.

Yes, each of the practices are shown with variations that will allow you to modify to your needs. Of course, only practice those tools that are comfortable and effective for you. Consult your healthcare provider, if you have any concerns.
