Andy Schouten
Financial Officer

Throughout Andy’s 27-year military career, he encountered numerous diverse experiences, from navigating tunnels under the Korean Demilitarized Zone to savoring a Dunkel Weiss in a German beer garden. He’s driven large trucks and tracked vehicles, operated howitzer cannons, launched rockets, engaged in combat with a machine gun, air assaulted onto a mountaintop, survived numerous rocket and IED attacks, and forged connections over chai tea with Afghan elders. Retiring as a Army Major with the last duty assignment in the Office of the Inspector General, Andy transitioned into the public accounting sector, supporting operations, information technology, and bookkeeping. After two years, he embraced his retirement and pursued volunteer bookkeeping for nonprofit organizations to fulfill the foundation of selfless-service. Veterans Yoga Project is a perfect fit for Andy with the benefits of Mindful Resilience and his combat experiences in Afghanistan.
